Miles Morgan
CEO

Miles Morgan serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Thames Rivers Trust, bringing extensive experience in environmental management and a deep commitment to safeguarding river ecosystems. Previously, Miles led the Environment Agency’s environmental programs across Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, and London, delivering projects in river restoration, flood resilience, and community collaboration.

With a Master’s in Water Management, Miles has tackled a wide range of environmental challenges, from conserving chalk streams to reducing river abstraction. His work has involved engaging and collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including water companies, government bodies, local groups, councils, and delivery partners, to achieve meaningful and lasting improvements for rivers and the communities they support.

As a former Chair of Governors for a school in St Albans, Miles has also developed a keen understanding of governance and strategic leadership. Outside of work, he remains committed to community initiatives and environmental stewardship. Miles is passionate about advancing the Thames Rivers Trust’s mission of creating healthier, more sustainable river systems for future generations.

Caz Bailey
Programme Manager

Caz has joined TRT to project manage our Thames Catchment Community Eels Project – Development Phase.

Caz has more than 20 years experience in project co-ordination and risk management, she is an expert in budget management and stakeholder communication and engagement. She brings her knowledge and skills from a career working with several Wildlife Trusts, The National Trust, Severn Trent Water, Butterfly Conservation, The Environment Agency and the RSK Group (an ecological consultancy).

Belle Buchanan-Smith
Finance & Admin Officer

Belle joined the TRT team at the start of March 2026. She arrives with 12 years as a bookkeeper and management accountant in private sector accountancy firms and 6 years in the public museums sector as a project accountant. She is passionate about working in the charity sector.

Belle is playing an important role in keeping our finance and admin in check for our Development Phase Thames Catchment Community Eels Project, as well as taking on responsibilities to keep everything running smoothly day to day for TRT from a finance and admin perspective.

Belle enjoys swimming, hiking and travel.

Jen Tabb
Activity Plan & Engagement Manager

Jen joined TRT in August 2026 to lead development of the Activity Plan for our Thames Catchment Community Eels Project, shaping how communities, schools and volunteers across the Thames Basin will engage with rivers, wildlife and eel conservation.

She brings over 15 years’ experience in education, engagement and programme development, most recently as Education & Training Officer at Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, where she led the education and engagement strands of the Sherbourne Valley Project. Before moving into the environmental sector, Jen spent over a decade as a secondary school geography teacher, building strong skills in partnership working, training delivery and clear written communication.

Jen is looking forward to using her experience in multi-partner coordination and community engagement to help build a fundable, inclusive Activity Plan for the eels project.
